So many words on different forums about this radio. Whether it is in the USA, Funkbasis in Germany, Transmission 1, Charlie Tango there are hundreds of comments, words associated with me and indeed not my words sometimes or mine with things added or taken away. SO I will straighten the record once and for all with this. The doubters can doubt the fools will always be the same as this is not my issue at all.

I learned about the Lincoln II during the latter part of 2012 and checked around and there were no solid events around it. This trail went cold and started again in 2013 when I was asked via I think Poland ( Piotr ****) was the name on Face book and he added some information about the radio. There was now meat on the bones but nothing really interesting. Time later a link came to a torrent where I could see the radio, was protected right click disabled and in the upload it said Blackberry.
This photo was and is NOT the same as the official one we have all seen since then. The user closed his / her or its account and it is not possible now to contact them as it says ” user is not known ” Later on I saw another photo and this was different to the first one also, and this also is different to the official photograph. This came from another place and NOT where there came an issue when it was uploaded in parts on my twitter page to be copy pasted and sent onwards. THIS is now under review via twitter as it was reproduced without accordance to there rules ( not my rules )
Initial things show was from mainland EU.

What makes a new President Interesting?

Like expensive champagne or wine a new radio from them is something to wait for. Always something interesting, pedigree and history behind it. Whether it is a Harry a Teddy or a Billy they work from the box. And all export radios command top $ as they were thought out well, the George has never been copied for example and still commands high price on ebay or via private sales.

I am a “Joe Bloggs” man on the street and share the same ideas as others. I don’t work for any business related to CB Radio, I am not involved in the CB Radio Business more than any other user. I have written since the 80s and still continue till this day but the market, mobile telephones, the internet have all changed how things are used and what happens about the release of products. Some for the better but more often or not for the worst.

I think that President did not re invent the wheel with the new radio ( maybe they did ) and indeed maybe there are some things from the past Lincoln ( display character set looks familiar ) but more than this they have brought it into 2013 and according to reports it will come fall / Autumn 2013. The radio looks nice, it has generated more than 160 in total PM messages via you tube, lots on face book and has made many people jump and look to see what will be coming to the market place.

Investment into a President

People cry like small children based on a photo. I do not want echo it makes it like a toy. I don’t like coloured displays, I don’t like the controls and would change them. All valid pointers but the market place now is open for you to make contact with a maker and design with them the radio of your dreams. President INVEST into the making, design, test, PR, sales, warranty of any new product the same as with Albrecht, Intek, Maxon, Cobra and more. But still the same people with no money comment on how things must be to make them part with cash.

A particular quote from you tube to me ” If is sold for like 300 euros I can get a new HF Radio for that, not a CB ”

I asked where the 300 euro new HF radios can be bought and still wait the answer from this fool. You can never please all the people all the time, it seems it is good if you can please some people sometimes. The market is full of cheap AM/FM radios almost all the same, almost all looking from the same place and they sit on shelves. IF people do not buy a radio and only preach then the business dies. It is down the tubes, only people who buy, use can comment and not the ones who invested into a radio in 1987 and it still works well. I’ll get extra channels added by the man down the street for £25 and not buy a new radio with a warranty.

People complaining about Uniden not making more radios

Wake up, make yourself a coffee and feed your guide dog before you look at there page. They make UHF stuff for Australia the new Bearcat series for the USA and in time they made for President. But think for gods sake. You ask for a radio to be made where maybe you can sell 20-30 or 40,000 pieces ( just a guess figure ) or you get Deutsche Telecom or AT&T who say “Hi Uniden make us 2 million telephones. I think it is lucky Uniden still takes the time, investment to make CB’s and can be highly commended for it and not moaned at why they not make more models. CB is a niche thing. Its not mobiles and apps.

Along comes a new President

New markets, New Operators on the Air. A generation who scrimped and saved for a Lincoln now older, more cash available and along comes the new Lincoln II in the Autumn 2013. CONGRATULATIONS are in order. New EU norms in some lands allow SSB and as of today we don’t even know if the Lincoln II will be sold as a Multi EU CB so we can guess only. This radio has been a long time in the waiting.

You wouldn’t is the answer to that in two words. All people want something there isn’t that nature, human nature. The original George and James were years ahead of there time. Now we have PC programmed radios but for me the George is still better than what is out there now. BUT try and convince Uniden to spend time designing the all new George. That could be a different matter indeed.

“The radio will have VFO Mode” Maybe, Maybe not. Who told you for sure it would have. The maker has experimented in this with some radios so it could come with it. I don’t know, if you know contact me and we name you here as a source of information.

Tell me who told you and we will feature you. If you look at the display it says C Band and 26790 so that would make me think the radio maybe has 26000-29999 on the inside the same as the old one. Harry III could have had 25-28Mhz if they wanted but it came with A,B,C the same as the Harry II so nothing added.

What am trying to say is that yes I saw some photos which are different to the official ones. Not used it, have asked for 2 pieces to be ordered but I think they are not fast arriving. A Swedish dealer told me he was told it arrives “Summer 2013” and online it says Autumn 2013. If it is rush released and there are errors people will moan like mad and if they take time, make it work well then they moan hmm it takes so long So sit back and chill. Prepare your mastercard, visa or wallet for the radio. Sell something old and prepare for something good.

And remember if it is AM in Europe the Number1 is President. Check the trucks from Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic with there antennas and on the back No1 CB President. President is a proud company with over 30 years on the market place. Wait and see what comes? The more who moan will be shocked when indeed something special comes there way in 2013.

OH and like as a PS. I wrote once about an Emperor Kenji and it was released in a German CB Funk Magazine and was called roughly translated Thailand Rubbish. This was my title for the article I wrote, it was changed in some countries where it was released to another name but in Germany the working title was used by the editors and staff. I still personally have a Kenji. Mine could not make all channels well, birdie noises, no export channels, low audio, processor noises and the list goes onwards. I bought the radio, actually in the end I bought 4 pieces of them to see if they were any different and all had issues for me. I rave and praise when something is good, I call it crap, junk, rubbish when it is bad. MY MONEY invested into it so my words are permitted I think. Or maybe have I missed the point?
