Jopix Itaca Fija SSB

Fed up with noisy front end radios then this could be for you. Based on the old system Dragon, Albrecht base and retailing for €177 in Spain comes the oddly dual named Jopix Itaca “Fija” AM/FM/SSB radio

Labelled as a CEPT FM/AM 4w and 12w SSB radio it fits into the norms for 26965-27405 but of course I guess there is a way to make more of the radio shall we say. Online prices I’ve seen them at €229 also €159 and €177 so there seems some hunting needed to get it for a good price.

    Hi Simon,

This is my first CB radio bought about +6 years ago (and I still have it). I’m not able to talk about the technical stuff, but this is a famous radio among Portuguese users, with good reviews over all. Many people have the Itaca here in Portugal (and Spain as well).
The radio has been on and off the Portuguese and Spanish online stores over the years. Some decided not to offer them anymore. Some like ondamia.com still have them and always had them for sale – 121€+vat

Mind that I’m not sure if it is the same version, as the word “Fija” in the name is something new to me.

Anyway, if them apply to this “Fija” version of the Itaca, mods are available for the “original” radio at the Spanish site portlapmr.com, with instructions on how to open the channels and how to add more power.

    Have a great weekend!
