So the new base for the Florida is now out and for sale in the Czech Republic for 830kc which works out at around €30 so not too bad. For me what’s hard to understand is why the base is not covered with a rubber or plastic boot. It sits bare metal against your cars roof.

For me when add that to a car I’m not sure if can mark or damage it. Guess the plastic boot or cover can be purchased extra maybe. Having checked I think there is also no space to allow the cover to be inserted. Anyhow the antenna is out and about in the Czech Republic so guess is available at a dealer near you. What is nice to see is that “Engineered to the very best” has returned to the brand. Like the “full channel” on some radios in the old days.
