Thank you to Doghouse whose used the contact form to send me a note that the FT-450D has now a new revision of firmware which appears to be the first in a very long time. Although nothing is known about the change log below is a tinyurl to the new firmware

Click on the FILES tab, and Version 0244 is available. It was released on the 23/Aug/2016. The change log does not give anything useful about the “improvements”

I did the update no idea what it did
I asked Yaesu what the update did, here is their reply.
Japan used the phrase “Improved and Optimized” to describe the firmware update. This means the changes are of a minor nature. When there are major changes or a change that is aimed at a specific detail they will they give more detail.
