In some areas called “the poor mans lincoln” it was produced and probably was the best SSB radio Maxon produced. Had the bands from 26.000-29.999 AM/FM/USB/LSB/CW and was pretty much a clone of the Uniden radios. Still today sold on the used market commanding €120 and more.
Killed off before it’s time I’d say, plus Maxon seemed to get lost in the marketplace. They could copy stuff maybe but couldn’t design anything new and exciting plus guess at a price where it could be sold onwards. Another radio with guaranteed not to die in 18 months internals.

Yes, the poor man’s Lincoln. I remember a post of yours on TM1 explaining the history of it and why it was a copy. However, for £100+, I’d go for a Lincoln, every time. Although I’d only buy an original Lincoln that hadn’t been touched and was a MKII.
