Peiyng CB-002

CB mobile antenna this time and costs £22 delivered from Sussex in the UK. As we are all radio people of the world I’m not going to start on the vast list of minus and the couple of ticks of plus. Country of origin I guess somewhere in the Far East. Below are the details and a small photo of the said antenna.

37cm, fixed on 7cm magnetic holder, 3m cable, 26-28MHz, 3dB amplifying, V.S.W.R: 1,2:1, 50Ohm, power to 30W, weight 0.5kg

  1. I’m surprised to see Steven calling this a “nice one”. It’s not more than a dummyload and the claim of 3 dB gain is just a joke.
A quarterwave antenna is 2.75mtrs which gives 0dB so how can a 37cm mobile antenna with poor ground than give 3dB. It shows again that manufacturers “play” on the poor knowledge of the average CB user with these “false” claims. This antenna is not more than a poor radiating dummyload. Very sad.
