I still expect Kenwood to announce the mobile 50 Watt version of the new TH-D74 handheld. But the announcement will be more likely about a HF rig.
Only Kenwood radio I’ve ever owned was a TH-27a. After that It’s all been Yaesu, Tytera, KST etc. for handhelds. And 40m 5W QRP CW only rig.
TS-480 has been in production for 14 years, 2000 for almost 18. Probably a new TS-2000 aka TS-9000.
That’s what I’m hoping for. 🙂

Hello years ago I had the 480 and I thought it was more of a desk type radio the head was on the bench and the radio was on the floor and I didn’t think it was that nice a radio compared to the 570

@ Matt. Kenwood still has the TS480 in both 100Watt and 200Watt versions.
you maybe right matt but if kenwood are wanting to be a market leader they will have to compete with icom I think it will be a sdr radio makes you wonder if yaesu will go the same way interesting times ahead

I think it might be a small mobile radio like the old TS 50 , because they have the big base station the 990 and they have a mid range radio 590 but no small radio? but this is a guess
