Ah Ha,finally they listened and put CTCSS\DCS on it,good move!
Lets hope they stick to TNC antenna connector as more robust connector for portable use antenna, like Randy II
BNC are always floppy with long whip antennas on them.
Now,I really do hope they bring out a option drop in charger pod and optional very long tape antenna or center loaded telescopic antenna.
High IP rating too so least keep internals dry when used outdoors and a rugged enclosure like Randy II?
I dont care its hasn’t got SSB,just complicates things for a Hand portable and pushes cost up more, much better options out there if need SSB mode.
And whats under hood in expansion mode? repeater shift?Alpha channels?-5khz shift? 10m band? lets hope so.
Cant wait to see it in the flesh!

I have a thing for 11m hand helds, Simon and there good for the breakers that like to get out and about and good for the mod car as there not allot of space the antenna adapter and a good mag and sirio antenna even a mic to, ideal for static mobile just another part of the hobby
Wise words! I’ve always got the Randy II in the boot just in case and with 12v adapter kit
Hi Simon, Any info on the antenna that goes with it?
Just this picture for now. I’d guess screw thread like last one possibly
I have to say, I do rather like the design of this radio. It seems to take the brand more upmarket as it were. Wouldn’t mind seeing an export version of this model though.
Naughty 🧙♂️ It’ll do as you want it too 😇
