*News* FCC Allows FM CB Radio

Overflowing mailbox this morning with thanks to Jordan, Andy, Bruce, Rob, Jake, Carol, Susan, Dave D for sending me the exciting details that the FCC in the USA will allow FM (Frequency Modulation) to the exciting AM and SSB radio. Maybe soon with conditions getting better we will be able to make contacts on 27Mhz across the pond.

Below we’ve got some of the information for you to take a look at.

Details: https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-374114A1.pdf

  1. It’s been a long time getting the FM modulation, but very similar to the UK been along time and we have Am and usb and lsb and FM on mid band, there might be more on fm.

  2. Wow, that’s interesting, it’ll also put a fire under manufacturers who supply the US with unidens etc with no FM. Thanks for the update 73’s 29TM063 Dublin Ireland

  3. Some have already enjoyed Fancy Modulation here in the US, or at least, so I’ve heard. Wonderful news, Simon. I suspect that this will bring some of the radios you folks across the pond enjoy to us here in the States. Delighted!

    • Hi Fred. Love it! Fancy Mode 😀 let’s hope some radios from over here will make it over there with revised firmware for your 40. Should not take much work I imagine. Thanks for writing and best wishes
