Money Well Spent? Albrecht AE6110

CB against cost, cost against Quality. Factors we all think about when a radio is needed. What do we want? Presidents quality, Team & Albrecht price line, Anytone’s name. This was the case upon the arrival of the AE6110 from Albrecht which landed here via DHL from Markus at Neuner Funk.

Quality was in the past 100 plus euro and pound spent, then you got something that was right and was able to do what you wanted. Then some companies dropped the ball and stood back and let the competition kick there ass as it were. Qixiang came along and supplies cheap and cheerful AM/FM radios that both CRT and Team use to great extent and they are changing the hobby.

Strong and clear modulation on AM/FM, and not so quiet audio on FM which President has suffered in some models (so customers state) but crystal clear AM audio. Electret mike, export mode with all the goodies and a key routine for high power. Price point less than 60.00 euros. And not just a, b, c (low, mid, hi) band but full export mode from 25-30MHz and indeed 10metre mode and of course the 5 and 0 ending channels in export mode (I’ve wanted this since 2006)

Albrecht now showed there offering from Qixiang. Smart choice and not the usual **** they release where a customer is a BETA tester. A recent photo on transmission1 showed inside an AE5890EU and it looked like a fight in a pasta factory with all the wires like spaghetti everywhere. But still £200 plus wanted. The disciples of “Made in Germany” as some tell me on air will be shocked as they are made in a gardeners greenhouse and not a factory. Qixiang excel in AM/FM stuff. Pile it high, sell it low. They in this radio save Albrecht from more decline.

Good Build, Fitted Mike (electret), ASQ, s-meter, RF Gain and up and down channel change.

Times are changing, Uniden “Made in Philippines” more sought after than ever. Albrecht SSB Radios dead in the water  (Ask Qixiang to help you) Magnum, RCI resorting back to old boards like in the Jackson 1 / Cobra 148 GTL-DX as they were solid and reliable, not like some others before and after.

Anyway. AE6110 is a good radio, 59 euro , made to sell, made to use, made to modify.

Maybe not here in 20 years time but the market does not want it this way anymore.. Wanted is quality at a good price. The rest in time will solve itself.

  1. So… regarding this little CB radios this one is the one you recommend? If today I “needed” to buy one, I wouldn’t know what to choose. After the Yosan CB 350, so many have been released that is hard to choose. Although the flip feature on the 350 is a nice feature and an advantage against others (I thinking of small spaces on modern cars).

    Cheers!

    • Recommend nope never recommend as people’s cars, lives, conditions all different. I like the audio quality, size, export features and price versus features. I like the flip feature too on Yosan it’s a great idea and size perfect indeed for new cars
