Over the years am sure we have all used radios where nature intended them to be but jumpers open or closed had decided they would not work. The video below was sent to me in a link to show in 2014 where one operator was hearing stations, from 25MHz till 30MHz

Years ago, maybe some 20 now there was always people chit chatting in the MHz and 25MHz. There was a regular QSY frequency of 25.995MHz for example. Seems now with people taking license etc there is more quiet times than conversations. Myself I always listen around the lower area of the band. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you get nothing more than taxi stations and noise.
