*July NEW* It’s Truman II ASC

Another month on the 12 months of President and this time it’s the Truman II that is going to be the radio of the month. It’ll come in dual voltage and in some ways looks like a Harry III in my opinion but guess in the inside will be all new. The downside for crying dealers it’s another AM/FM radio. So does this mean we’ve had 6 months of AM/FM and next 6 months is going to be SSB stuff? Guess not….

And the Details:

– 40 channels AM / FM

– Channel rotary switch

– Volume adjustment and ON/OFF

– Manual squelch and ASC

– Multi-functions LCD display

– S-meter

– ANL filter builtin, NB

– F function key

– Key beep

– Roger beep

– Public Address

– Tone

– Vox

– SWR automatic

– Mode switch AM / FM

– Preset emergency (EMG 1 & 2)

– Key locking

– Front microphone plug

– External loudspeaker jack

– Seven Display Colours

Below we’ve got a photo of the old Truman and the Harry III which I think the above Truman II has a passing resemblance. Changes seem to include SWR function which we’ve seen on the McKinley and Lincoln II series and appears to have no HI-CUT feature either.

So guess it’s ultimately the same 120 ex, maybe T5/T0 and maybe high power mode. Time will tell but you can see the family resemblance with these photos. Ultimately I liked the old Truman. Was a no BS radio, killer AM and sounded good when I spoke to Kentucky and the Buck Eye. So, the II means it better than before?
