My thanks to Rob in the Netherlands for sharing the video below with us. I must admit that this radio looks stunning with the big display. The features look pretty impressive too. The more I see how the development of SDR (Software Defined Radio) is going I think this is just the tip of the iceberg.

We are still at the beginning of an interesting journey. You may compare this with the introduction of digital photography. The more powerful the electronics, the better the SDR radios will be. So far, the dynamic range is not very good and you quickly get an overflow error at strong signals. The radios get really good because of the combination of analogue and digital technology as you can see e.g. on the Kennwood TS-890S. It is and remains exciting. Ii think it is only a question of time until CB radios on SDR basis will come on the market.
