President George II Goes V2.0 Firmware

Helmut Frequenzwaschl kindly sent me a photo of a George II running V2.0 firmware. Do we know what the changes are? Me, NO

President is the most top secret organisation and do not comment on new or old stock, don’t tell anyone nothing and we should respect them for this as 46 years in business and respected around the world.

It’s like walking behind Superman and stepping on his cape it’s not ok! So to ask in France is the same as this, if they want you to know you will find out and if they don’t want then “you’ll know nothing”

Maybe some parameter, maybe a tidy of something, maybe nothing, maybe more. Truly I don’t know..

  1. I just thought the service menu was an oversight by President, which may now be blocked @V2.
    For example,
    George1 it was good to get the first Versions, with the second generation export-Mod by using a key combination was no longer possible. I thought may it´s necessary to hurry up to get a V1.

    • In the future when people mess up radios maybe they can delete it. After all it’s not there so much for end user. But Klaus HF-Doktor wrote it’s there in V2 and it’s same board and components as V1 with bug fixes and some issue with German mode fixed. Seems all is well and sales continue

      Export mode isn’t key combination unless switch mode fitted. Export is move the wire not cut and move jumper! Only key press is switch mode

    I’m close to orderinga George2.
    I’ve been waiting for weeks for an improvement of the delivery situation and better prices.
    Now comes the news that the new models have V2 Software,
    I’m now worried that I won’t be able to access the service menu anymore with the new delivery.
    Is there any news about this?

    • Hi Armin,

      To wait for a radio just for service mode isn’t a great idea and the price is set so don’t imagine it to drop anytime soon as still many want the radio so when something wanted no need to drop the price.

      Internals of V2 are identical to V1 and online news is that German band scan/skip was modified and some bug issues but EVERYTHING else is the same from service mode to all other things. But if service mode is a key reason to buy then I don’t understand sadly

    I get the V2 on Tuesday or Wednesday.
    there are some bug-fixes (dealer info), e.g. in the German CB country mode.
    of course i can only tell you more exactly or what else has been changed when the V2 is here…
