I want all the countries, I want export mode without loosing channels and I want high and low power available (for countries that allow it) The PNI Escort HP65 delivers a lot of this stuff. True I had brown hair when started to chat to the factory of this radio about stuff years back. Hm now it’s white! But it was worth it finally it seems. Things that were too tricky or not understood or not simply wanted have been implemented this time. Congratulations to PNI for thinking about it too and for also implementing some of this stuff into this new release.

All the usual multi norm settings with Noise Blanker, plus has 7 colour display, 12/24v system, decent sized display with channel, band and frequency shown on it. Time Out Timer is on board, audio from base, base and handset, just base and just handset so could in theory hide the base and just keep handset on show I suppose. Modern car hide and use possibly.

Build

Actually it’s well built, heavy plastic case, warranty sealed to stop pokers inside and attached power lead with cigarette plug on the end of it. Add a Virginia or PNI48 and your holiday ready as antennas are pre-tuned.

Audio

FM strong, bright and clear. Received audio from handset, speaker, both and just one is excellent. Not any issues! NRC would have been nice but radio price point ( 34,525.00 HUF online PNI Hungary ) around €87 you can’t complain ultimately.

Expo

Yep it’s got it on board if you look for it. This time 25.615-28.305 AM and FM so encouraging as covers Italian truckers on 27.465 AM for example. Missing are @lpha channels which is a shame BUT and I mean BUT someone somewhere listened and 0 ending channels are now onboard which is a new and I mean NEW idea for factory and PNI this allows 25.610-28.310 on of course both AM and FM.

Hypo

Yes there is high power mode for FM. It also appears to be working AM also but I don’t recommend using it as had a buzz sound now and then! Stick to FM high power it’s best solution for you.
