Out and about on Saturday and was with another antenna on the car. This time was a Midland MC45 which arrived some days before from Amazon returns and the radio in action was the President Randy III+ running in the car before we try out the William II in the same position. This antenna was around €19 plus shipping from Amazon returns as mentioned earlier.

As we are all radio people I won’t explain in great detail the antenna enough is to say that the antenna is fine for the EU and the UK 40 channels. What’s hard is finding a voice on FM. During a 200km+ trip to Slovakia and back only voices were on channel 22FM the Romanian mobiles channel. Otherwise life was peaceful and especially so with the NRC switched on.

Good long cable it was easy to fit to the front of the car with the antenna placed just before the shark fin. Yes there was some wind noise when approaching 130kph the speed limit on the highway. Decrease to around 100-110kph the noise was not noticeable.

Comes with 4.5 metres of RG174 and we will try again soon and see what we can hear and speak too. Guess as it was during the Easter break this also had some reasons the band was almost dead. Plus a G3 storm also killed any sporadic-e conditions.
