Really good to see the HF Doktor back with a modulation test on the Luiton LT-310 SDR with the original not modified microphone and then again with the modified microphone. Take my money now boy there is a difference

Well, the unmodified audio on FM has some ac power supply noise in it where the modified didn’t. On SSB the modified audio is definitely sharper and would be more suited for DX.
In either case I’m not sure it warrants spending the time and money to change the mic element.
Yeah, I would really want to hear the difference in person, then, it might sound different. I think if the mic. gain was turned down a tick, it might sound better.

I have to say, the first microphone sounds better. The second one sounds more harsh, at least on MY phone. Perhaps it’s different in person.
