So we’ve had a look and a poke around initially with the Radtel and have some comments to make. Well it appears the CTCSS and echo function didn’t make it as it’s not on my radio, simply not there. The AI NRC which made the SSB transmit stop in the Luiton sadly is also still there even though now it’s a new board. The board on the Radtel isn’t the V1.4 it’s now the V1.6 and in my case doesn’t have any jumper wires hanging around inside. So it is indeed the next generation but not the rumoured miniSSB V2.0 board that’s mentioned in the far east. Saying that you need a new firmware and not only just board changes.

The tuning software be advised it’s not ok it appears on this version. With my Amazon cables as the programming cable didn’t come with the radio reads it with like a clunk from the radio, you can make changes but when write to the radio it pauses and freezes at 68% The minimum volume of mine was set at 28 so I changed it down to 6-7 that’s why needed the tuning software to make it a little more pleasant when sitting on the desk.

In the case of my radio the *echo function and the * CTCSS/DCS are missing. The VFO mode isn’t dedicated it’s the same as with the Luiton however I’ve asked if it’s at all possible to have a 5khz step added and I’ve got a lovely reply

“Influencers love the radio as it is, so not much need changing”

So the morons with free stuff kill it for the money spending people. SSB radio needs a dedicated 5khz step in SSB mode.

New V1.6 board has made a difference it is now far more like the Aquario than it has been before.

Advice to Radtel

You fucked up. The radio isn’t and wasn’t ready for market. No amount of emails will change that or make it better. Clocks tick louder the more customers will get it. This would be an excellent hot spot radio with the CTCSS and even that failed and you advertised it. Test, Test & Guess what Test again. More importantly learn about what you are selling to avoid issues in the future.
