The all black one looks cool. I really wish that President would come out with a “second tier” all-mode radio based on the looks and button layout/form factor of the Richard II. It would be awesome if they could add a dual-concentric knob to the front panel (since the President Richard II is wider than the older Richard) that has 1. An I.F. Shift, and 2. A filter knob that can be used for those SSB stations that are 2.0-2.9kHz away, and causing buckshot (adjacent channel interference). Those features would be awesome to have on that “2nd tier” radio I have proposed to President, and also on a new iteration of the President Washington, if they ever update it again.
-My only complaints about the President Washington as it comes, is that the frequency readout is too small for me and many others while driving. Make the frequency readout around the same size as the President Grant II had. Well, I do have one last niggle. Get rid of the cheap feeling, clicky frequency knob, and use one that is silky smooth like what is used on my 310SDR radio. I just love the feel of it. 73, Simon.
