Radioddity appear to be on fire at the moment. They have the exciting Xiegu G7250 on the horizon and now the black fronted QT-30 came to market. Many had believed this radio would be the same silver fronted as others but it’s more dramatic in black and in my case I think it makes the display colours pop more.

Costing a little over €200 plus shipping and data cable this radio like it relations is the latest on the inside that Qixiang has at the moment. Four pin microphone blog, wide transmit of 2K and 4K on FM and 3K and 4K SSB it makes a statement on the bands.

Do not make a mistake

Do not associate this radio with others that look the same. Looks can be deceiving and this one (long story) is the real one although it’s brand new. It’s all about intellectual property and other things. So if you own this one, it’s reliable, it’s working well, it isn’t needing update 20 and from the box it is going to make contacts and make contacts very well indeed.

Amazon Germany

They had these on Amazon Germany recently and I ordered another one. Then you see if it’s same for same quality and both radios work exceptionally well. Ive made a microphone adapter from four pins to six to change microphones and the audio quality is excellent. Saying that I get equally good reports on the standard microphone as on a K40, K-PO, Astatic, Sadelta and other ones. So do not think you need to buy another microphone or an adapter as the supplied microphone sounds excellent also.

PC Programming

We’ve covered this sometime ago and you can program the memories for example the UK40 amongst others and it’s easy access and easy to navigate. You can buy the cable directly as you can from dealers and eBay. A special usb-c ending directly into the front of the radio and away you go!

Bluetooth BT

This version doesn’t come with BT function for those who’ve asked me. Is it truly needed that’s in question but for me it doesn’t make any difference in use

On Air

Excellent audio reports on various microphones I’ve tried. Probably the standard microphone could be the best one but in my case I’ve tried the K-PO NM532, K40, Densei EC2002 amongst others and ALL have received excellent reports. The standard supplied microphone is very good so if you don’t try or buy another microphone then there isn’t any issues at all really.

And Keep Or Not?

I’ve got a second one as one is never enough right? Both the CB5000 Radioddity and the QT-30 work excellently and do exactly what you’d expect and no funny behaviour which is excellent also. On the CB-5000 there are some changes needed and have explained these to Radioddity it’s only vanity issues around the display and S-Meter etc. Nothing special, just a user behaviour thing only.
