*NEW* Making An Excellent Radioddity CB-5000 Just A Little Better

Was Sat thinking about the Radioddity CB-5000 and was it possible to make an excellent radio a little better and or enhance it so to speak. And the answer to this question isn’t so hard as such and could be accomplished by them or the factory quite easily really.

CPS

The CPS behaves sometimes oddly and people have reported to me it stops and or doesn’t really program all what has been asked of it. Same has happened to me with the real programming cable same as with the generic one which is from another member of the radios family. So maybe an evolution is possible from the 1.0.0 version which seems generically the same as the AT-5000 which also has some issues also.

Firmware

Like with its European cousin it would be nice to make adjustments around the signal meter, change the colours so they are easier to see in varying light conditions. Enhance the font or make the numbers a little bigger, not much just a little to make it easier to see and understand in different light conditions. The step or span function Albrecht ignored works well on the CB-5000 but again I would make small changes around the colour it shows while scrolling through the numbers to change in the menu system.

Saying That!

But saying that both the CB-5000 and QT-30 are excellent radios and are working in my case exceptionally well. Hard to believe the 5000 is almost a year old now, so it’s time to make a couple of under the hood changes and see how they are working. Qixiang would need to be asked by Radioddity and in such case maybe this won’t happen but we can dream, that’s healthy to do!
