So talk via Poland and the Czech Republic is that President have another new CB up there sleeves or should I say Radio and not the Lincoln II. Sure we know that the underwhelming release of the Lincoln II comes in its own sweet time but this is a CB and not Amateur Radio now we hear the talk about. Is it real? Do not Know. Are the people wrong and the new radio is Lincoln II? Maybe. And it seems that the people believe the new radio to be Uniden sourced.
Leaks are all to common at this “silly season” of the year and it is hard to really put meat on the bone to whether all the rumours are true, false, indifferent or indeed real.
What we know?
A gentleman from Spain quoting President wrote that a new “CB Radio, maybe a George II comes January 2014”
A supplier of output transistors have confirmed a large amount were ordered by an un-named company
Grant II should have been released before the Lincoln II and the George II was not thought about at the last news.
Is there any Lincoln II now? NO, was it released when the rumour was? NO Do we care now as took so long? NO
Do we care?
What is sure on the market at the moment Is that many L2 will be sold. There is NO DOUBT AT ALL. But without Uniden on the inside it could be as many believe a piece of shit like some of the other radios from the same maker.
Since the days of the Hannover 9000 (www.neuner.de) sourced the first the evolution of the radio has been as dramatic as its amount of pieces sold. V3 was bug ridden, V4 had the bug where the ASC was on and the s-meter died and now here we are at V6 which is the best of the bunch. £150 delivered in some market areas, does what it says on the tin and super popular in Poland where President was king.
AM & FM
Market flooded, don’t need no more budget radios and the high priced ones not needed new or re-hashed old ones
SSB: We need new ones, as many with good quality as can be sourced. At the moment if the legal SSB came to the UK tomorrow there is the Jackson II ( dead outputs with static on an Antron ) AE5890EU Albrecht that has its issues shall we say and at a wedding would be the ugly sister. Then there seems to be the in short supply AE7500 which I actually like. Sure once more it has its issues but propelled my voice across to the USA on legal SSB and AM and had comments of nice audio, that is even on its supplied mike.
We Don’t Need
Built In Echo and 200 colour displays from baby pink to brothel red.
Why have a channel 9 and 19 button on a radio sold as an amateur radio?
CTCSS & DCS. Excellent and I agree add them to all the radios, helps to avoid idiots and can be used as a gateway radio when internet linking them via EQSO and other platforms.
BEEEP BEEEEP BEEEEEEP 0.0001c of noise when you press a key. Sold by one supplier as a “key sales feature” I would say use the money for a external s meter socket when use a digital s meter as they are as reliable as a chocolate tea pot.
Most of All test, test and test another time. Too much time sat on a bench, not enough in a car and doing the business. Sit outside in your Audi calling someone behind a window 7ft away is not a test, that’s an insult to people and there intelligence.
But what comes in 2014 do we care? I think we care if:
The radio is Uniden
The price is right ( so not right when the maker is Uniden )
Quality is Good
Audio on AM and FM is like the Thomas and the William
SSB Audio is a mix between V6 Anytone and CRE8900 but not as processed
Oh yeah Santa? Why am I not liked down in the south….
Can we ask them to be modern and have face off units just for a change
Sure can ask them and also there is at least 1 company trying this in R&D as we speak
Radio World in Britains is allready taken pre-orders for the Lincoln II coming on February.
Yes that is correct and some are now taking down the radio from the website until it arrives. The radio is not a CB for SSB in the UK but many people are waiting for this radio. Yes indeed, many are really waiting
See it here, simon, greetings. m8
