I’ve been asked this now via many emails and on you tube so although am not home I interrupt lunch and explain quickly for those who kindly asked me. Why on a President radio do you need cut the white wire and not just move a jumper.
Following radios for example:
Grant II
Jackson II
Thomas & William
JFK II
If you simply move the jumper up then you enable single band operation and cancel out multi-EU. There are some places like Austria for example that do not allow multi-EU so far and to sell you need single frequency and that’s how it’s done.
So President were smart and knew how to sell on all market areas!!
Move jumper & cut wire takes away all restrictions and allows you use the radio as nature intended.
Want multi-EU back move jumper back to initial position and it’s done!
To enable single band option again you would need join the wire also.

Oh man what a question. I would guess it is IC controlled so would be hard. Would need service manual or something. Let me see! Wait & I check in the one here before it goes
