Another radio around and about now is the Baofeng UV-8. This is another dual band radio with the usual suspects of the 6.25KHz step for the PMR men and the frequency range of 5watts and can be programmed with the excellent CHIRP software. Radio appears to come single banded 136-174 or 400-520MHz.

   
 
Cheapest I have found is $22 plus shipping fee from Asia. Of course there could and would be import duties and taxes from anywhere outside of EU. 128 available channels to program and high, low power. All good and powered when sold correctly with a 1800MaH battery with an FM radio (65-108Mhz) and a flashlight.
