CTX December 2015 Newsletter/Update

—————————————————

Welcome to our monthly CTX news update. The newsletter is intended to provide a brief update of CTX News and Activities for both team members and followers alike.

The delay in publishing the newsletter this month was intentional as we wanted to include news of our Xmas activities which have just been finalised.

The BIG news this month are our Xmas Nets!
So without further ado, here we go!
Wednesday December 23rd – Midweek Net (Southern) Xmas CTX Special! FM UK40 on, or around Channel 28 (27.87125Mhz) from 7pm until around 10pm. One or more CTX stations will be out and active for this one!
Sunday December 27th – CTX AM Net! 6pm-9pm – calling on Ch14 (27.125Mhz) with QSY channel (Ch10 (27.075Mhz) preffered, but may change depending upon band conditions on the night).
Sunday December 27th – in addition to our AM net, we’ll also be active on Sid 141’s Sunday DX (PMR 446 1pm-2pm and UKFM Ch34 2pm-4pm).
As always with our CTX Nets, we aim to make them as inclusive as possible, so we leave the heavyweight DX talk and contact-chasing to the Ham and Freeband guys – we’re easy going and encourage a bit of old-school CB talk, but no hardcore swearing, no calling “break” or “QSK” repeatedly when other conversations are in progress and please keep the net running via the net chairs – otherwise it all goes to pot!

November CTX AM Net.
Thanks to all who called into our AM Net on November 28th – the net ran for three and a half hours with well over 20 in the log (as recorded from Net Chairs 965 and 104’s location on Beacon Batch, Mendip Hills). When the noise is low, AM is very hard to beat in a net environment!

As already reported on our timeline, November also saw two new CTX Full Members join the team – namely Richard 163CTX120 (Wales) and Uffe 21CTX017 (Sweden). Great to see new members joining and participating during the cold Winter months!
Interest has been shown from a few other potential new members too, so hopefully 2016 will see some more active CTX Members out and about.

That’s pretty much it for this newsletter – next one will be our New Year 2016 Special published around the beginning of January.
In the meantime, we would like to wish all our members and followers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (y)

We’ve passed the word via email to our friends on east coast USA and Canada there is no reason why the conditions won’t allow them a chance on AM.

Go get those radios ready for these events, we will be trying although hard in winter time from the dark depths of central EU but you never know if you don’t take part.
