With thanks President Electronics USA for posting some “pre-release / pre-production” photos of the eagerly awaited President McKinley USA which will be available to see as I understand at MATS2016. This radio will lead the attack on the SSB scene in the USA and as I understand it the insides are all new. Nothing carried across from the old Uniden 980SSB as I understand it.

  
  
Will the radio be released in the EU many ask me and I don’t know is the real answer but the fact that it is 12/24v and the fact that it is a DIN sized radio would make me think in the “positive sense” it could come but President don’t confirm to the usual norms so maybe it doesn’t. Oh boy! Wait and see.

Should it come to EU? Absolutely

Should it have fine / course? Yes but could be just push button -5 / +5kc

Nice rounded sexy Uniden 787 channel display, like the signal meter idea and finally a front speaker SSB unit.

Is it DIN sized? Yes it is.

Does it need to be a no noise board? Yes it does

Will it come to EU? Absolutely no news at all 

But if it’s going to come I’ll do my best to show you it here on the blog…

Oh and anyone at MATS, I need just one piece to have a little look at 🙂 This shows maybe a new phase at President to show something before general release and needs to be highly commended as many want always to have a sneak peak. Downside is it puts people like me on the back foot as nothing to try and find out.
