My thanks to Carmen for letting me know the information below. He’s certainly got his finger on the pulse of the USA radios and it was with his kindness the last article was updated with photos as well as videos. Below we’ve the information about the radios that are coming

More new announcements from Galaxy!:

On this day, November 8, 2016 – the day this most unusual election season ends – I am announcing two new CB models. Both are in our mid-sized chassis. The same chassis as our DX929 and DX979, but with a full size five digit blue LED frequency counter built in. It is 7.25 inches wide and fits into any slot that a Cobra 29 would fit into. The same size blue frequency and channel LED digits as our full size radios but these digits are in a new SMT package containing all five digits. They actually look better than any of the previous models we have. Look closely at the frequency digits in the pictures. All previous models use five separate digits for the frequency counter. Both models have a front mic jack and the Galaxy StarLite (backlit) faceplate.

Features are as follows:

A) The DX979F is exactly like the current DX979 except it has a built-in five digit frequency counter using large blue LEDs instead of a jack in the back for the external FC347.

Galaxy CB radios are designed with Features that a serious CB operator can appreciate and a new user can easily master. The radio functions are laid out in a driver friendly format essential for ease of use while keeping your eyes focused on the road ahead. Each knob or button controls its own task, minimizing the need to look at a display or cycle through multiple menus. Big radio Features in a smaller package set the DX-979F apart from the crowd. A big calibrated meter, front mic jack and sideband operation along with our backlit faceplate give this radio maximum bang for the buck. Galaxy DX-979F Features include: AM/SSB and PA Modes. Large, easy-to-read meter with: power output scale calibrated for AM and SSB. Modulation percentage scale for use on AM. Incoming signal strength scale indicates up to 60 dB over S9. SWR ratio scale. StarLite faceplate (all lettering is backlit in blue). Automatic SWR circuit (no complicated calibration procedure). High SWR alert circuit with warning LED. Talkback circuit with on/off switch and volume control. Variable power output control. Variable dimmer control. Noise Blanker and Automatic Noise Limiter circuits. Blue frequency and channel LEDs with blue meter lamp. Mid-sized chassis with front mic jack. Clarifier control. Blue/Red LED indicator for RX/TX. Receive (RF) gain control. Mic gain control. Rear jacks for external speaker and public address use. Two year Limited Warranty. Dimensions:7-1/4″W x 9″D x 2-3/16″H (Can slide into a 7-1/2″ x 2-1/4″ opening) (Depth does not include knobs or antenna connector). Radio weight with microphone: 4.1 pounds. Shipping weight: 5.6 pounds. What’s in the box beside the radio: Handheld microphone, radio mounting bracket and microphone mounting hardware, power cord, owner’s manual.

* Medium Sized Chassis with Front Mic Jack Allows for Installation in Tight Quarters (Radio is 7-1/4″ wide – Same as a Galaxy DX-929/DX979)

* Built-in Five Digit Frequency Counter Using Large Blue LEDs and Two Digit Blue LED Channel Display – Meter is also Backlit in Blue

* Backlit Faceplate Lights all Lettering Blue in the Dark. Backlighting is Very Subtle so all Lettering Appears White in Daylight

* Large, Easy-to-Read Meter with Calibrated Scales for Power Output, Modulation Percentage, SWR Ratio and Incoming Signal Strength

* Variable Power Output Control, Variable Talkback Circuit with On/Off Switch, Automatic SWR Circuit and an SWR Alert LED, Variable Dimmer Control, Two Year Warranty

😎 The next model is the DX939F – our AM CB model with a frequency counter. The functions are the same as our full sized DX939 but it is in the mid sized chassis (DX929/DX979). Here are the three differences:

1) No three position tone switch.

2) Roger Beep is still there, but no LED to indicate that it is on.

3) No switch to turn off the frequency display. However, the Dimmer pot turns it down very low.

Here is the description for the DX939F:
