I have one, and believe that the source of the distorted air band audio is inadequate AGC response. With a relatively weak signal strength the audio is fine. Get too close to the tower and it gets distorted. Not sure if the fix is physical or a firmware update issue. Other than that, it’s a great little radio.

There is a firmware update out there I know but at the moment I’ve not been able to find it. But I was told that it could solve some of the issues people are reporting

I have it, it’s a “K5 Firmware.rar” file, but I haven’t tried to use it. I’m afraid of bricking the radio.

Please can I ask where you found it? I ask one of the admins to test it out

I think that it was on the Quansheng website. I just looked at the document, and although it’s in Chinese, from the screenshots it looks like a programming cable driver upgrade, not a radio upgrade.

I understand we have the firmware please wait a couple of hours and someone will see if it works on windows 10
