Remember when you break the seal the warranty is gone. Also remember this radio was loan piece and permission was asked to break the seal. As another website had the internal photo it was decided to add here one from a few weeks ago also as in public domain. As the radios are hot footing to dealers and customers here is the almost last chapter of the George II and that’s the inside story.
Opening it, warranty lost. Modifying it means not compatible CE and just need to say it for legality reasons.

Nice looking radio. Internal design looks very well built & the shielding in the rf section is impressive. I’m guessing that ” white ” wire is a secret way to expand frequencies. ???
Hi Bruce. There is a good and a bad way to expand and the wire is a big part of it indeed. BUT if not done ok would be a shame. Regards Simon
Hi Simon,
Thanks for the news, hopefully will be better than previous radios. Can we hope for a schematic maybe as in the case of Mckinley? Not sure if this will be the next CB installed in my car as probably is a bit larger than President Mckinley and wont fit under the hand rest. Aniway if it turns out to be to large for me will wait for the S890. Locking forward for the next video to have a chance to hear some signals on the new George.
Hi Radu. Great question and some weeks away I’d imagine. It took long time to receive any service manual etc McKinley so don’t know best answer when a George II comes.
Have a great day, best 73s and hope you and family are well
Simon
Hello.
Finally a President with beautiful modernized circuits and good magnetic shielding towards the power stage.
If in addition it has the same stability in frequency and the same quality in Rx SSB as the competitors, I predict a good commercial success.
It also has NRC RX and TX which are a real plus, especially NRC RX under certain QRM and Noise conditions.
I’ve been saying for a while, all these CB and 10M devices had to evolve in their design.
The days of strong propagation where the QSO are linked, there is no more unpleasant than a device that drifts constantly in SSB and which implies to touch the Clarifier all the time.
What will have it in a few days brand new, do not start fiddling the service menu to gain 10 watts of power that will make no difference in DX at your correspondents.
Instead, add a linear amp and preserve your radio.
Good week everyone. 73/51.
Hi Good Afternoon. Yep, Yep and Yep! Plus advantage also of “Power Limit” menu so you can choose all the power, 10 watts and 4 watts.
Service Menu already people asking as will make 50w SSB and 40w FM. Let’s hope it’s disabled or real tricky to access. This radio works well and doesn’t need to be messed around or played with.
Thanks for always intelligent, concise and great messages. Best 73 Simon
Hello Simon!
Thank you for your answer, it is true that I forgot to mention the power limiter at 4 or 10 watts for linear amps driving.
I was quite impatient to see this new internal circuit with the changes made.
It’s new circuits are the way to continue to evolve our beloved radios.
Even if we love the 3 samurai Yaesu, Icom, Kenwood and that they are great devices, I admit that for my part I like to have a CB radio and 10M in addition to my Yaesu FT-DX 1200.
Greetings. 73/51.
Agree with you absolutely. Have the three samurai here also but there is a buzz doing stuff on a CB! Always was I guess since 1978 so will always continue hopefully.
Have a great evening / week
73 Simon
