First up this is a retail piece and not a dealer loaned radio. So you pay the money and you’ll get the same radio. What is there to say?

Amplitude Modulation

This radio excels on AM. Mine is used with my Digimike and in the menu of the radio it’s set to DYNA and it’s strong, shows some swing and is actually excellent. Microphone NRC level one, only on radio RX NRC 2 and away you go

Frequency Modulation

Digimike same as before and set to DYNA and it’s excellent. There is the new style modulation President have adopted and the so called dunkel or muffled or dark audio is now away and a thing of the past. It’s defined, strong, sharp and clear. Just what we’ve always wanted.

The lights in the speaker mounting are fine, can be turned off in the radio menu and the transmit modulation lights are working well. Maybe this is the start of some new ideas from President with the lights? But it’s ok, didn’t think I’d like it but grows on you when it’s flashing on the table in the shack.

Weight

It’s quite a weighty radio. Drop it on your toe and you’ll instantly learn a different language as you hop up and down. Awesome heatsink for the AM regulator and this helps to the weight plus the chassis is thick and heavy. It’s a well made radio. And remember also heavy metal top and bottom cover

DIN Rack

Yes comes with DIN rack and extraction tools complete in the box.

Display

We’ve all wanted it and President delivered it. It’s a big one and covers all you need. Lovely graphics for ASC and numbers etc at a decent height. This needs to be a standard. Yes it’s nice small small radios but one without wearing glasses then yes please…

Seven Colours, switchable mike up and down buttons in menu, contrast, Roger Bleep which is a little higher than the usual one in notes is there and is the President bleep and not mixed with the aliens sounds some of the others have. Contrast, dimmer and in the extra features you’ll also get “power limit” in the menu as well as T5/T0 and @ channels in areas of the world where it’s acceptable. Comprises of A0, A4 and off. Just don’t cut the wire..

Audio from the speaker is strong, defined and rather nice. NRC my pet love works well. It’s nice and pleasant to the ears actually and in my case I’ve receive set always maximum 2 and TX swithed off as always use Digimike or the cordless Bluetooth microphone.
