Bing Bong the front door went and a postman had a box! Another great radio day as the new President Harrison II+ had arrived from Germany. As the owner of the original Harrison and the Harrison II it’s an exciting time when a new President arrives. Literally in the last three weeks the postman came with the JFK III, Bill II+, Randy III+ and now the Harrison II+. In my opinion the Harrison II was the best AM/FM radio prepared in Balaruc. Yes was a tad complicated for some users but the options, the audio quality, the export credentials etc made it special and so it’s going to be interesting to see if this new successor will be the same, better or worse? Time is going to be the judge of it.

Build
Yep it’s a well made radio. Thick case, metal, painted well and all in all it’s the same radio as its predecessor just with added features. P Channels can be selected in the menu to on and off but it’s another of the features you didn’t know was useful until it was there and then you use it more than you’d have expected!
Inside Story
Guess has the same hidden things as the one before but when you look at it jeez it seems bloody smaller if at all possible. Guess the board at the back inside maybe it’s NRC who knows and not important. Clean and tidy just as you’d expect from GPE. White wire and jumper 🙄 but please don’t go inside and become an engineer cutting it. Sit back, chill and think about it.. You’ve only one warranty and mess with it and it’s done and dusted.

Audio
It’s the latest and strongest from President. Gone are the old days of dunkel and dark FM transmitted audio. Now it’s clear, sharp, bright and truly a lovely sound. AM is where President is President! They earned there follows with strong AM audio and the joy of using something that sounds like the investment you’ve made into it.. The radio is in this case an upgrade to newer features radio and not brand new as such. Sure could have also had bug fixes, component changes we will never know but it’s like a big sofa, or visiting a friendly auntie you know what to expect and you’ll not be disappointed it’s just as you’d expect. Nothing more and nothing less.
Soon Audio & QSO Videos
Harrison II my first ever QSO on it was to the Gold Coast of Australia on FM. It was over 15,545km (9,610 miles) and the report was it’s like a telephone line! So am excited to be more on air and see what we can manage with this updated version.. Fore me personally I’ll be using the Digimike and or the Cordless Bluetooth microphone and menu set as DYna as works best for me
Martin +
Won’t be on the blog for sometime. Not that it’s a bad radio, not that I don’t like it but paid out a lot in a few weeks and will wait a bit. Check others who’ll sure feature it in world exclusive videos and four mile contacts. Later in the year then maybe it comes here. In meantime back to the shadows where things are happening..
Next Step
It’ll be on YouTube or my TikTok with some contacts etc. modifications not sure I’ll do anything as have the older brother Harrison II here and it’s working fine.
