Over 60 messages Friday to Sunday tell me export mode, tell me high power mode. Tell me now my radio comes Monday and so onwards all of which is waffle as radio won’t come Monday at all. Maybe A Monday but not today.

This is a strip down version. There is a more detailed version, Videos etc this will come later on. I will do some extra work around for those who will immediately modify it. That way you can use the best you can at this time. Nobody asked me do this but I’m a CB guy, 48 years now and know people will buy it to make modifications so bare with me I’m on the case…

So guys I’ve had so many emails and heard so many tales about my words concerning the Albrecht AE 5900 that am here in a small way to say bare with me a few days and my full thinking will be on the blog here. I’ve heard of stories of people cancelling orders for the radio as “Simon said this Simon said that” so please read below and Simon will say this

Multi Norm radio it’s absolutely excellent. Modulation, build, NRC, functions (As Sascha has shown) the radio is really all that! And I’ve ordered one and with the multi function microphone as size is important. Plus extended EU mode easy as Sascha shows and keeps and retains the German 80 channels! Come on it is what we all wanted for years now. It delivers 100%

Export Mode. The radio is sold multi-norm! Export mode has some oddities. The bare bones are there, the power, the audio quality, the receive all is superb A1 there is just firmware issues around some of the functions. BUT again it’s sold as an EU mode radio and for this job it’s TOP! You can absolutely run it in extended mode but will have some things not working as planned.

Add to this there is a missing function that allows you to swap the big round control to channel and the up and down arrows to volume. This is a AT5000 idea to swap a bigger round controls behaviour and was neglected, deleted or not wanted on Albrecht that way people use logic for channel change and it’s not there. Kindly please add “channel swap” in the radios menu at some time.

United Kingdom 40 in export mode isn’t there. So one market that won’t buy the radio much on principle. You can turn off the radio, select CB in extended mode, turn on again and select U.K. and use it. But then to go back to export mode you need turn off the radio, re select the band you need and begin again.

There was an online rumour that Albrecht or the factory supplied me the export mode. Stop telling lies I found it, I found the keypress and was my own work. Factory and reseller cannot give out this information as it’s not permitted with contracts and the like. Plus legality!

I’m still nosing around it still and have as promised posted a video on TikTok as this page will become empty soon as I never renewed the space.

Hungary almost everyone uses SSB and not AM or FM. After I converted it I recorded a small part of QSO from Russia which you can hear is sounding quite nice.

Facts Are Facts

To me I’d buy it everyday of the week as a multi EU radio it works absolutely excellently. I’d also buy it and extended EU the radio also. You can buy it as an export mode radio and can use it but instantly loose the warranty when all things are not perfect are too risky.

There is a myth that white wire and move jumper = export mode. This is also not true and doing this the radio remains in EU multi band only.
