*NEW* PNI Escort HP60 The First Look Inside

First day of May and a new radio to have a look at! Can’t be any better news really.

So this new radio arrived FedEx from the PNi web shop and here it is to have a look at. First of all YES it looks like it shares a lot of DNA with the Luiton 778 which we’ve featured here in the past weeks. Yes it looks like the Anytone AT5289 but it’s not that radio so please don’t write it’s the same as it’s not the same. Only looks the same!

Heavyweight

Out of the box the case is quite small but the weight of the radio is heavy. It’s indeed a bruiser and mine came with a cigarette lighter plug on the end. It’s not by anyways a large radio but it’s packing some weight.

Warranty Sticker

The radio comes complete with a warranty sticker and indeed you don’t need to open it. I’ll loose the warranty on your behalf so have a look inside mine and keep the warranty that’s the best idea if you ask me. Don’t loose a warranty for the sake of it.

CTCSS Board
Covered Finals

The radio absolutely has a strong build, excellent transmitted strength of FM audio. It would have been better in hindsight for the radio to come with GDCH microphone wiring. The fact that it’s a little different can cause concerns when needing or wanting to exchange the microphone for either a better built one or one with stronger build possibly. Internally it looks more old school so it’s possibly an older variety of board when compared to the newer ones you see nowadays.

Next up will be some on air videos and more interesting things.
