Oh, okay, I see now. Much like the “lock” button on some Yaesu microphones. If I remember correctly, the lock on that Yaesu microphone (on my FT-8000 for example) not only locked the channel changing, but maybe also the channel/vfo knob on the radio, but I think I am not remembering that correctly, the more I think about it, haha. I wonder what the MAP will be? In America at least, maybe it will be $299, and President will lower the price of the 80 watt Washington. But, I bet they will just straight out discontinue the 80 watt one, more than likely. I can’t wait to find out exactly what circuit changes they have done, too. 73, Simon.
Nice to know that President has officially reached the 100 watt range. I wonder how much more $€£¥ this new model will cost? I can’t seem to figure out what “Mic Up/Down Activation/De-activation” is? I am guessing that a specific button on the microphone acts as a way to turn on/off the radio? Makes sense. The way my Washington is mounted, is in a Havis brand, multi-radio console mounted on top of the transmission hump. I have to lean down to turn the radio on and off, which can take my eyes off the road. So, having a remote button handy where I don’t have to take my eyes off the road sounds quite helpful.
Top of the microphone are up and down buttons. This is a way to deactivate the buttons from working
