*NEW* CRT Concorde I V2 (The V1 Is A Tale Of Misery)

This really interests me a lot as my radio is a V1 and to be fair it’s rubbish. It needs firmware updates and these are not possible it seems from CRT France. I’ve asked at a very reputable dealer and he was told that the radio is “up to date” that was the direct CRT answer. But this doesn’t help those who have wasted money on the previous version. The radio wasn’t announced as PC programmable as unlike the Anytone version didn’t come with the PC cable. While now it states Programable By Software. So if anyone bought the initial release I think they have the right to be really pissed off!

In my case I can update my Anytone AT-5289 II and this in theory could work on the CRT but you’d loose the start up logo and maybe other stuff.

No real end user support really and dealers have asked on my behalf and on the behalf of others and the same either no reply to emails or just told it’s updated.

Let’s really hope they offer firmware support now. Would be good to get a radio that’s working well and can be used with CPS. Guess we must wait and see.

I did email to CRT France and asked for a link to the software as it says software on request and with conditions. The condition I guess was ignore me which they did

I’ve also asked them for help obtaining the firmware to make a radio below par better. The reply was silent, they didn’t answer and ignored the mail.

So it will be the case I suspect to flash the radio with the generic Anytone software and loose the logo from CRT.

Let this be a lesson there are resellers who care and help and there are resellers whose heads in the sand, fingers in there ears humming and do there best to ignore customers.

  1. I recently acquired the Anytone AT-5289 II here in the US and am very pleased. What issues affect the CRT v1?

  2. CRT up to their old tricks. Their position on providing firmware support to customers is the worst I have ever experienced. Buyer beware! There are much better brands to purchase these radios through (such as AnyTone), who will provide firmware support to their customers.
