Having watched and advertised here the GT Retro World look at the Thunderpole 1/2 (Silver Rod) I decided to unwrap one I had here and attached it to the 2m mast here via the Sirio FT-2 bracket adapter. I installed it all as per the guide except on the bottom setting where the SWR is configured I moved the line a little higher so I could use mine on a little lower frequencies
- Type: 1/2 λ
- Power Handling: 1000 Watts
- Length: 5.25m / 17’2″
- Gain: 4.1 dBI
- Impedance: 50 Ohms
- Frequency: 26-30MHz
- SWR: 1:1.3
- Mounting: Pole Bracket
- Connection: PL259
- Made in Great Britain
** Price at the top is a guess as where I live it shows almost 19,000 of the local currency and not matter even with a VPN it doesn’t show me the UK Price **
How my SWR is based as I said on how I moved the bottom element as wanted it to behave better a little lower than where the lines have been set.
Channel 1 EU 26965 1:2 Channel 40 EU 27405 1:0
Channel 1 UK 2760125 1:1 Channel 40 UK 2799125 1:2
Channel 23 LOW The “unofficial USA 🇺🇸 FM Call” 26805 1:4
Echo Echo DX Group Frequency 26425 1:7
Monitor Frequency Of Some Friends Of Mine 25995 2:0
So basically for me in my situation the antenna works easily from 26505 till 27991 and into 10m if it was needed. And for the cost how excellent is that!. The first contact I made was a friend on air and the blog 1NC101 in his portable at around 700km away. He gave a good report and super chuffed on this antenna to make the trip considering at my location the antenna is low at around 2 metres from the floor.
