Below is something that arrived in my email a few days ago as an unfinished project but look at it now. The left Grant II is a modified one and them right hand side is standard. Absolutely amazing difference! So incredible that I’ll be sending mine to Finland to check the difference what the modification can do.

  
The difference is old Uniden to New Uniden.  How the modification is done I’ll not tell here in full but I’ll inform you the web address of the engineer. Incredible!  Boy oh Boy. Watch the video Uniden and next week the questions will be sent via the blog and the open letter.

I managed to make a really decent RX mod without any extra filters. The trick quite simple but needs some measuring instrument to tune it right. In short, back down front stage RF gain some a bit and amplify the signal later on after it is filtered. Notice the dramatic change in NB function also. You normally wouldn’t use NB since it weakens selectivity but sometimes you have to.. After the mod Grant 2 doesn’t loose anything in sensitivity but the usability is much better. President should have done Grant2 this way from the begining.
