A photo from way back in 2005 of an Albrecht PMR Watch being used from near Prague in the Czech Republic on a small hill (400m) with external mike and was talking to Jerry (Pavel) Nove Mesto in the north of the country on also a mountain around 800m height at a distance of 106km (66 miles) and this was the radio that made the trip
To this day still doing crazy things. Used a Topcom Twin-talker PMR Watch from another mountain (1500m) and spoke 136km (85miles) on the standard radio power from the very south to the north of the country. All good fun. Sure easy when mountain to mountain but you don’t need expensive equipment to join the fun of talking across the miles.
One of our frequent haunts. Pancir in Czech Rep. 14 element and a TG707 Kenwood or CB Radio was an excellent place to speak from
106km on a watch
very impressive on such a small antenna but with a beam skys the limit good one simon I have seen the video to very impressive
In fact, really, really impressive!
I thought that was impressive, until I saw the tiny antenna of that watch… wow, that was *really* impressive!!!
Yes it was recorded I just need find it. Height helped of course but fun times and I think €25 investment from Allamat to get them (store now closed)
