News from China the past minutes is that the 8900 Dual Band radio will enter the market place in the next weeks with (R) ending so will rename as KT-8900R and will come tri-band. News is fast arriving so when more updates come I will update this page with the latest news.
The obvious solution would be 136-220-430 MHz but await the actual confirmation that this is the case. As the sales of the initial radio have been super fast the new upgrade to tri-band has come earlier than planned. Pricing & Availability Not known now.
136-174, 240-260, 400-480 MHz Confirmed

Gotta wonder how long it’ll be before the Chinese put out an inexpensive HF radio.

Now that I has about to make may order on the dual band version ( http://www.409shop.com/409shop_product.php?id=123831)….they do a tri-band.
To tell the true, if it only adds the 220Mhz section, It adds no use for me, so it’s not a problem. Question is: Will we see a price drop on the dual band version?

So I’ve just asked and was told
The tri-band will be sold at a premium price and the dual band will remain the same in the meantime
