President Grant II Premium “Modified White Noise Free” Version €325 

Long time back we featured a modification from Finland which killed the White noise by let us say “dumbing down the receiver” Well the radio can be bought now with 3khz audio, modification made for the noise and some other modifications directly from the website of the man who found the mod. I’ve never tested it, never seen it in real life so feature it as is.

  
The website links I’ll add here for you. Of course we would all like a noise free receive. Myself, personally have a total of 6 radios and none can be used at home, nether Premium or non Premium and that hurts a lot.

Petteri reads the blog so maybe in time can tell us the differences with his modifications (My Finish is zero) If my understanding is right you can also send him your radio for modification, same as also with James “The Shack”‘in the UK who has I understand carried out a few of these modifications now.

So many still ask about the noise, sorry I cannot really tell you more. I know Uniden has looked, does look and continue to look at the blog and that’s all. So let’s wait and see before witch hunts are started. When I know something I’ll tell you here. You’ve asked about where to get noise free, so the links above tell you where.   1. Simon you are right … I checked the grant II (and some other newcomers) only at home in a green valley with sheeps. Where does all tha trash come from. We do not have a tv but all neigbours run monster tvs, we have miles of electrofences to shock the sheeps, we have about 100 wifi networks in our small village, we have lots of farmers with old electrichelpers running 24/7, we have a growing number (everytime aldi offers them as topseller) of powerline networks etc – that are the new conditions on cb band. On my first radios it was russian woodpacker radar and zetagis talking to homeland. But sometimes woodpacker and luigi and mustafa did a break and on band opening there was nothing else than pure DX. Now iam sitting in a swamp of s5-8 noise not much less 24/7. So hope for future solutions and more information if mods can help.

  2. My Premium was in the minority then, had the receive mod done last week and i can honestly say that it is like a different radio!!

      But really, some users in Spain, Poland had no issues at all. Could be they used them mobile not based? But based all mine have issues…

    • Well that’s my second set. I’ve also got the non premium and that was nowhere near as bad on receive as the premium, but having said that after James done the mod the premium is in a different league to the old set. I’ll maybe do a wee video when I get back up running as Storm Gertrude snapped my tornado 27 on Friday morning, only 4 months old, so looking for something else. Any suggestions?

    • Can the old antenna be repaired with bits maybe from Sirio? But if needs new one then most people recommend Sirio 827 or IMAX. Myself never got on with IMAX, too much crackles and pops. 827 never used one so can’t comment. These days I’m running a Himalaya (new name for Black Pirate) and does me well. Low noise and performs well for me. Not used the radial kit on mine.

      Grant II. Excellent news it’s been cured. Mine all have S3-S7 noises.
      But I’ve seen some with less, some with more, some with none.
      So in some way can be geographic, led, plasma, Internet, location maybe.

      But James big congratulations to him for offering Petteri modification

    • Many people can use these radios noise free Sven. Really seems the minority have issues. I’ve people write to me how well the radio works. So not all have the issues it seems
