Been talking to Ray & Lee over 16 years from different countries was nice to hear them today on the UK40 while running the low noise Grant II Premium. As you can see the difference with the old one is quite substantial. Sure it gets local noise issues but gone are all the other rubbish. Sad thing is I’ve another 6 sat rusting away, money tied up, not useable at all.

At the time of the contact the equipment was as follows, there was nothing overtly special, antenna against the same post as always and the Mike on the radio was an old old Astatic Teardrop but it seems to do the business whatever mode you try it on.

So: First always run legal. Never more than four watts into the amplifier….

Reports were good, conditions weren’t good but most of all it’s the chance to speak with friends. That’s invaluable cost wise. Will be looking for the Bravo Bravo guys all the summer long. Enjoy the video guys.
