Thanks to Marc for the message via twitter and as promised here is the Amazon available and sold Olywiz Dual Band radio. The radio packs frequency banding from 136-174 and 400-470 MHz but I’ve been told that the one Marc has works till 490 MHz and packs an FM radio with 5 watts of power.

I have Chinese crap as you call them Bob had 2 little Baofeng radios for 10 years and on the same batt and used every day I have 6 all the same charge them when needed, work mostly 70cm and pmr with my base antenna and we can get about 10miles , as the crow fly’s and they all have bigger antennas and work very well and I will not be buying expensive radios.

  3. Holy whizz !! Chinese crap if you ask me.. it’ll cease working in no time and you wont get it fixed since it’s not worth it and you’ll end up buying a quality HT so finally buying two radios instead of buying a good one in the first place…. typical scenario with that kind of crap…
