  1. In my humble opinion, the current circuits are much better than this old Aquario RP-80 modified to the breaking point.

    When you need more power, you lower the radio’s rf power to the required level and use an amp if you really need it.

    I am the happy owner for 6 months of a SS7900V CRT that comes out 60 watts PEP in SSB and if I would need power I would lower the RF Power to work with an amp, it is useless to push the radio to the point of destroying it.

    Enough of all the golden screwdriver gurus…

    We can send 10 or 1,000 watts of power, but even that way the propagation doesn’t want to help us make contact sometimes.

    I find these modifications and this war of the useless watts.
