*INSIDE STORY* * EXPORT MODE* PNI Escort HP 5500

Don’t break warranty seals unless you are sure radio is ok. Remember local rules, regulations, don’t get caught out and don’t let the blogs legal beagle come moaning at you!

Faster or better programmed IC. The lazy lag of the Team gone away, export mode inside, NO ZERO ending is a mistake. Could add them long press EMG makes it sexier to some other markets.

Ā£44 or €52 or 21,000 HUF for quite a lot of radio. A lot of stuff for the price, leave it in a car, tractor, 12/24v BIG SCREEN no fuss citizens band radio transmitter. Hungary most use SSB so I left it in export mode a while to receive Italian Super-Bowl on 27.465AM and also some other stations. These will be online asap the videos. Now it’s back to legal mode as best place to keep it

  1. Which one do you like better, the Retevis MB62 or the PNI HP 5500? The former also has no zero endings, as Retevis has confirmed. Really a shame! btw, can the 5500 easily switch between the EU and UK band in legal mode? The MB62 cannot apparently and needs a two-handed band switch.

    • Neither have zero ending frequencies (shame) but one can make 20w, the other 8w. Need check tomorrow whether it has U.K. / EU or U.K. / CE band
Long press A/F changes the band in U.K. mode but not sure on which band it changes it too. I’ll report back
