PNI has just brought out the 6500 PRO with better modulation, NRC 7 levels and VOX on board. It’s available in my area from PNI.hu and emag.hu for example. It’s looking a lot like its relation the Thunderpole T-600 which also recently was released.
If you’re in the U.K. I’d recommend Knights and if in Germany Neuner and buy a microphone adapter whether 4 or 6 pin GDCH. Yes you loose up and down on the microphone and need use it on the radio but boy the difference in sound is amazing. I tried a K-PO NM532 and it was really an amazing difference
U.K. Mode: I’ve asked at PNI if in the future they can change the U.K. band from U.K. + CE FM to U.K. and press button EU AM, EU FM and return to U.K. FM again. Easy but costs time, energy and of course money to do it.
HP Mode: It’s there but you loose warranty. You need move heavily glued jumpers to fill all pin points which they dont from new
So they need to be de-glued and lifted to fill the points they don’t fill. When carried out hold PTT, hold NRC and turn on! You’ll see HI on the screen. This mode does not work in German DE band. It’s only standard mode so remember before loosing the warranty.
Export: In my opinion it’s not there. You need move pins and this enables HP nothing else it seems
Glued badly, was a massive blob of it which we know eventually eats components. Best not to open it, don’t gain channels etc just a few watts…
NRC: It’s not the same as others NRC. What I mean it’s got sort of ghost sounds, fake voices etc like NRC from times of old. It needs some work (in my opinion) sit a Qixiang produced radio side by side this one and turn on RX NRC level 1 you’ll understand me. BUT it’s there and it’s useful in noisy situations but guess it’s not the latest version from new supplier it’s maybe newest version older supplier. It’s same as Thunderpole I’ve mentioned it also but never got any reply so far. Seven levels so just mix and match the best for you.
