*HMM* If This Had SSB?

Guess I’m going to be called out or told off with this post. The gorgeous new AT5289 is absolutely a radio that needs SSB to be added. Everything on this radio says “add SSB” it can be a 10-12m radio.

But we need the factory to see it’s something people want and we need also a company to see it’s something that the people really want. Middle to High end, good sized screen, reliability and power.

Needs repeat function, memory channels, good PC software and firmware updates available on the website for example. 60 watts needs no change at all, just literally add SSB and keep same name or AT5289 Pro and onto the market and sit back and watch it sell.

Take my money now….

  1. Agree,ssb for this one!
    TCXO stability like 6666
Plus usual extras, ctcss DCS single and split tones (add a ring alert pager)repeater shift ,NRC ,wide narrow 2k/4k dev ,Rx audio and busy out TTL on mic socket.
Fast slow AGC ssb, wide narrow ssb filters
Add FM speech clipper for punch
    Updatable firmware
    Service Mode
Also like to see …Alpha Numeric Text on memory tag channels ,as this was bit disappointing on at-6666 not being able to text tag memories.
Put built in parrot repeater mode optional

    DTMF microphone option
Detachable front head panel kit I’d love for installations optional.
Big twin fans on back for cooling.

    U got a winner for 2026!
    Make users happy.
