I have not seen it in the wild world so thought would put a feature here about it. Following in the lines of the other Intek “High Power” radios is the M799. Looks indeed as always like its brother which is the standard 4w version but this one will make 20w AM/FM so will be a firm favourite in the former Russian Republics where I am sure it will earn its kudos and money as a taxi radio.

M-799EX POWER (*) International Version, features 14 bands, 450 channels including 50 Alpha channels and 20W transmitter power. Not available for sale or use in the EEC countries.

The above means either close some jumpers, open others and away you go.

PC All the Alpha Channels and on the screen will show a small @ so show it is indeed an Alpha.

And also will make simplex on 10m with 20 watts so will be good up around 29MHz where the AM activity is located
