*NEW* Anytone Ares II Europe Price Wibble Wabble

Congratulations to Helmut (Funkwaschl) whose found the Anytone Ares II WILL indeed come to the EU from February at a cost of €239. Below we’ve got the link and details. And note NO programming socket on the back cover of the radio.

What a shock! Had a message that this radio will not appear in Europe and to delete the funkshop details. As this radio will not have CE approval meaning not permitted in EU and only possibly OK in England now out of EU I was quite surprised it was going to come here. So dream over before it started it’s not coming at all, so get wallets ready for Super Star 3900 it’s going to be similar.

  1. As much as I like the look of the new Anytone Ares II as it reminds me of the Cobra 148 GTL. It would have been more usefull to drop the analog meter & the 2 digit channel readout to make room for an lcd display that could have shown channel / frequency / swr / power / signal readings / mode & so on. Especially given that there’s no frequency counter socket, having an lcd display would have made it more functional.

    • Guess this is the comment you emailed me was deleted. It was pending as host of blog thought something in it was spam.

Ares II is base of Super Star 3900. This radio is old school analogue meter which many people loved. Guess they were asked make a new 3900 without drift, better quality, good price. And this does exactly that. Haters hate, lovers will love. That’s radio! And with the lack of components it’s at least good to have something new.

  2. It seems that all the manufacturers would have to produce a new 10 meter device every month. This does not bother the user much, because many models soon dive into insignificance, have weaknesses or are missing important things such as PC connection. Dear industry, please make less devices but better!
